WHAT TO EXPECT IN COURT

Complete and utter confidence that your case will go smoothly.  What surprises most of our clients, however, is that almost all bankruptcy cases do NOT require court hearings in front of a judge.  When a bankruptcy is filed, a case administrator called a "trustee" is appointed.  In most cases, a bankruptcy debtor only needs meet with the trustee one time.  This is called the "Meeting of Creditors" however it is exceedingly rare that creditors actually come to the meeting.

The purpose of the meeting is to verify information contained in the bankruptcy petition.  This used to be done by asking questions of the debtor.  In today's meetings, most the questions are answered by a written questionaire that we assist you in completing.

In addition, a large of amount of documentation is due 7 days prior to the meeting.  We pride ourselves on submitting the documentation at least 4 to 5 weeks prior to the meeting, thus ensuring your meeting will run smoothly and our clients will attend with confidence.

We attend the meetings with all of our clients; we are there every step of the way.
